The UN Security Council

There are 15 members of the UN Security Council, consisting of five veto-wielding permanent members (China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States) and 10 elected non-permanent members with two-year terms (Wikipedia).

While deciding what to do about passing the resolution on Libya, The vote was 10-0 with five countries abstaining including Russia and China, which have veto power in the council, along with India, Germany and Brazil (The Huffington Post). Yesterday Russia said that they regret abstaining on the resolution, (i believe) implying they wanted to use their veto power.

Russia aggravates me, I would like to believe that they have moved forward since the 50's BUT it's comments like this that just make me wonder......... *sigh* It's just aggravating.
